John Van Dreal

John Van Dreal is a School Psychologist. He has 18 years of experience in educational and clinical evaluation. In 1999, John began the development and implementations of a Student Threat Assessment System that includes community and multi-agency collaborations, staff training and consultation to youth services agencies.

Through that collaboration, John has worked closely with educators, law enforcement, trial court personnel, juvenile justice, and mental health personnel in the assessment management of threats of violence. He is a member of ATAP (the Assosciation of Threat Assessment Professionals), and member of Oregon's Mid-Valley Student Threat Assessment Team and the Marion County Threat Assessment Team.

John has received national recognition for his work and contributions in threat assessment. John regularly provides training and consultation to national audiences on student threat assessment systems and youth violence.
